Originally from New Orleans, I have lived here in Knightdale for nearly 10 years.
I am married with one child and one stepchild. I have lived in Planters Walk for over 6 years and am a Community Watch
block captain on Clay Hill Dr. I am a software engineer at Square D, where I was awarded a U.S. Patent for a data network design.
As an engineer, I solve difficult problems every day with cost effective solutions. I believe my analytical skills
and my knowledge and interest in town matters make me a well qualified candidate for town council.
As a town council member, I will always put the people first. The people are what make Knightdale a great place to live.
We need to respect everyone's property rights. I will be reluctant to agree to any rezoning without the consent of all
residents affected, directly and indirectly, by it.
I will also seek answers by asking our citizens and the experts how we can make our neighborhoods safer. A fully staffed
Police force is essential and we also need to make sure that development doesn't cause unnecessary traffic through our neighborhoods. We also
need to encourage family entertainment business in town.
Finally, I will make my best effort to see that Knightdale grows in a balanced way.
We need to put the comprehensive
plan into action by making the necessary changes to the UDO. We need a balanced
mix of commercial and residential to keep our property taxes from rising.
Commercial development will also help pay for the open spaces we need for parks
and recreation. I believe that it's important to look for more water sources
and encourage the use of the latest technology to conserve water in residential
development.
